Key points in production of high chrome grinding ball

In general, the grinding ball company's end customers include mining, cement, construction and power plants. The grinding ball performance is directly relating to the customers’ business costs and economic benefits. Currently with overall grinding ball companies’ technical improved, the high chrome grinding ball with better performance and efficient is substituting for inefficient balls in application. High chrome grinding ball is a kind of high performance grinding ball which original composition added a small amount of alloyed gold, chromium, manganese and other elements metal and formed by advanced dry resin sand molding and quenching heat treatment. This kind of grinding ball is high performance and long life cycle in use, can reduce production costs and labor costs. Following a few key points in production of high chrome grinding ball: 1. The casting temperature should be lower to refine the dendrites and eutectic structure, also avoid excessive contraction and surface sand sticky caused by high temperature. The casting temperature is generally about 55 degree higher than its liquidus (1290 ~ 1350), such as small pieces castings controlled between 1380 and 1420, thick pieces castings of wall thickness over 100ram controlled between 1350 and 1400. 2. The high chromium cast iron shrinkage is similar to steel. It can be calculated as 1.8% or 2% in molding. On sand molding, the riser size can be calculated according to the provisions of carbon steel, while casting system is calculated as gray cast iron, but need to increase the cross-sectional area by 20% to 30%. Riser selection should be cared on two aspects: First, the quality of casting operating belt. Second, try best to improve the casting yields. 3. The high chromium cast iron has low thermal conductivity, poor ductility, large shrink, and large thermal cracking and cold cracking tendency. We must pay full attention to castings feeding problem which principles is same as that of steel castings (using riser and cold iron, and following the principle of solidification). 4. Due to that the high chromium casting riser is difficult to be removed, so the riser should be cut easily or on the side in molding process. 5. The mold have to adopt the high water glass silica sand and other good strength and permeability sand, paint should be used with high refractoriness high aluminum or magnesium powder mixed with alcohol mixing. Further, in order to obtain a fine grain structure and good surface quality, the metal casting model can be also widely used on simple shape casting. 6. Be carefully to prevent casting blocked contraction to avoid cracking. Castings is also very vulnerable to cracking under high temperature in opening, slow cooling below 540 ℃ is very necessary. And the surroundings must be kept dry, otherwise it will cause casting cracks easily.
